Last week we met with Hull City Council for the first consultation meeting about the city’s new approach to street sex work, following the successful resolution of our Judicial Review to challenge the previous legislation.
As it was a year to the day since the second ‘section 222’ renewal decision was made, we decided to mark the date by celebrating how far we’ve come with a positive gesture of goodwill and hope for our future of working together towards what could become best case practice.
We’re confident that Hull has the passion, the skill, and the guts to put lived experience at the heart of its new strategy and ongoing evidence base.
We’re proud and excited at the prospect of working with so many amazing individuals already on the case. With a chance to thrive instead of survive multiple disadvantages & the compounding impacts of stigma and criminalisation, those who understand these experiences are perfectly placed to lead the way out.
When women thrive, so do their communities.
